Steel Pedestrian Fencing

Steel pedestrian fencing is commonly used to channel pedestrians to safe crossing locations. Suitable for installation adjacent to the roadway, the robust construction prevents fence elements from becoming detached in the event of a vehicle impact.

This important design feature distinguishes steel pedestrian fencing from common, lightweight fencing products, which could present an undue hazard to motorists and pedestrians if impacted.

Steel pedestrian fencing is suitable for installation on roadside median or verge applications. The offset construction of the balustrades facilitates line of sight through the fence. This allows motorists to detect pedestrian activity and adjust their travel accordingly. Similarly, pedestrians can view nearby vehicles in preparation for crossing the roadway.

The steel supporting posts are available for installation in a concrete footing or mounted to a base plate for attachment to a concrete strip footing. The posts can accommodate a 50mm step allowing the fence to conform to the vertical grades typically encountered on the roadside.

The anti-climb design is an important consideration for installation near school zones, recreation areas and child care centres.

Steel pedestrian fencing is hot dip galvanised and powder-coated providing a durable fencing solution.
